Prefab Dream Home Becomes a Reality

Prefab Dream Home Becomes a Reality

Working with US Modular, Inc. has been a great process so far. Abe Ferreira, the CEO, took our project on himself. He took the time during the Thanksgiving holiday to meet with us on our land and discuss the process with us in detail for over an hour. Abe has been very responsive every time we call with questions and absolutely patient with us during the design phase of building our house. It is a big deal for anybody to take on a project like building a house. It can be very stressful and anxious at times but Abe has been be able to put our minds at ease and reassure us every step of the way. Abe has been an answer to our prayers and we are so excited to start the next step of building our dream home with US Modular! Sincerely,   Matt and Amanda Servant   Let USModular, Inc. make all your dreams come true.  Contact us today! info@usmodularinc.com...

Built In One Day Prefab Homes

Built In One Day Prefab Homes

A brand new community is rising in Yonkers. Nine built in one day prefab homes have exploded into view this week along one side of Helena Avenue in Yonkers. The new development, called Helena Heights, is part of the Colonial Heights neighborhood, just a block off busy Central Avenue. It’s a tightly built community of homes, almost like townhouses, with 50-by-100-foot lots and only about 18 feet of space between each of the houses. The prefab units — each house comes in four huge sections — began to arrive by truck from a Pennsylvania factory last week, and the first three houses were assembled, each in one day, starting last Wednesday, July 15. Three more have gone up this week. It’s almost like watching giant Legos or an erector set being fitted together. “So far we’ve had no real problems in setting the houses,” said Deborah Valentino of Houlihan Lawrence in Yonkers, who is co-listing the nine new homes with fellow Houlihan agent Tom Hennessy. Pat Crosbie, the developer, hopes to have construction wrapped up by Friday, July...

Americans Pave the Way for MultiGenerational Homes

Make homeownership an affordable reality with these unconventional strategies. Multigenerational Mania:  The recession caused many Americans to rethink whether homeownership truly is the American dream, yet a fair number of them still prefer owning to renting. In fact, a 2013 survey commissioned by the MacArthur Foundation found that more than 7 in 10 renters hope to own some day. But with stagnant wages for the past several years, Americans wishing to buy a home sometimes have to get creative. Here’s a look at several ways they’re doing just that. Co-buying. Multigenerational homes are becoming more mainstream. In fact, a Pew Research report found that 57 million Americans (about 18 percent of the population) lived in multigenerational households in 2012, compared to 28 million in 1980. The trend makes sense for both older and younger generations, says Charlie Young, president and CEO of ERA Real Estate based in Madison, New Jersey. “We’re getting a baby boomer generation that is aging and wanting to downsize,” he says. Meanwhile, millennials “might not...
